Why HHCV?

Cannabinoids like HHCV are considered rare because they are found in only trace amounts in cannabis sativa and its subspecies, including C. indica and C. ruderalis. Due to the increasing interest in these rare cannabinoids, there is a proposed investigation into their cytotoxic effects on pancreatic cancer cells (MIA-PaCa2, HPAF-II, and PANC1). Studies suggest that rare cannabinoids, including cyclic compounds like HHCV, show modest efficacy as single-agent antineoplastics compared to commonly available treatments, such as poly(ADP ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors. This evidence supports further exploration of rare cannabinoids as potential treatments for pancreatic cancer.
